The award-winning winning Cross Leg Lounge Chair was designed in 2015 by Magnus Long, a British industrial designer based in London working within furniture, product and lighting design.
Awarded Design Guild Mark's inaugural ‘Jonathan Hindle Award for Design Excellence’ in 2015 – recognising excellence and innovation in British furniture design – the idea for this chair came about from wrapping Post-it notes into cones to create a supple but stable shell for the seat.
The form of the cone developed into a bean-like shape to express a warm and inviting place to sit with the addition of multi-density foam building the fluid form and supreme ergonomics of the chair. A high strength tubular steel black frame supports the shell, while the back legs cross over, giving the chair both its name and a unique detail.
Crafted in Italy, the shell of the Cross Leg Lounge Chair can be exquisitely upholstered in the diverse range of fabrics: a range of leathers, linen, a rich wool blend cotton, linen textured weave and cotton textured weave, in an exclusive palette of specially selected colours.
Finished with distinctive, oversized criss-cross stitching on the visible seams of the seat to showcase its striking outline, the chair it a true statement piece for any room or work space.
